Green Plus is an innovative program providing northwest Arkansas businesses the opportunity to achieve a true, viable “green” certification of their businesses as an aggressive marketing and performance tool. The Institute for Sustainable Development in Chapel Hill, NC, is the engine behind the Green Plus program, which provides a self-assessment tool to businesses to achieve Green Plus certification. Extensive details on the program are available at www.gogreenplus.org. The Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce has elected to be an early adopter of this innovative program, which is currently offered in just three other states in the U.S. Member businesses will have the opportunity to enroll in the certification at a deeply-discounted rate thanks to their involvement with the Chamber.

The certification program is well-rounded, focusing on all segments of the performance of a business – people, planet and performance – rather than just sustainability efforts. It assesses the overall health and engagement of the business – from sustainable practices which positively affect the bottom line performance of the organization to the health of the business and civic/community engagement of employees. The certification is a true gauge of the overall health and performance of the business. It offers an amazing opportunity for northwest Arkansas businesses to take a leadership role while achieving recognition, positive PR and marketing collateral which will ultimately attract customers.
