About us

The Children & Family Advocacy Center was established after the merge of the Children's Advocacy Center of Benton County and Restoration Village, two long-standing non-profits dedicated to restoring the lives of those impacted by trauma. In 2023 the two organizations merged to better serve their community as ONE TEAM. ONE MISSION. ONE VOICE. The Children & Family Advocacy Center's purpose is to empower those impacted by trauma by providing a safe place to receive comprehensive services through a coordinated team approach from dedicated trauma-informed professionals.

  • Volunteers make an impact at our center by allowing our staff to focus on our mission to restore lives impacted by trauma. Over the course of a work day, over 25 volunteers dedicated their time to clean, bag, and count over 7,000 pinwheels used during our April Pinwheel Campaign. Each pinwheel is a story of resilience. Thank you to the American Heritage Girls and Walmart Tax Department for dedicating your time to our center! To become a volunteer or learn more about our center please visit www.cfacbentonco.com.

  • People come to LinkedIn to find professional connections, learn from experts, and build networks. Earlier this week a few of our staff members were able to do exactly that in real life. CFAC Director of Programs and Benton County Multi-Disciplinary Team Coordinator, Early Mallow, spoke to the research supporting our collaborative child abuse response during a What to Expect When Working Child Abuse Cases training. Thank you to the Children's Advocacy Centers of Arkansas for providing this workshop to those looking to learn more about the impact they have during a client's journey. It was so nice to once again work with the Children's Safety Center as they hosted the training in their new training room. Together we can all help those children who need us most!

  • Teachers play a crucial role as mandated reporters for child abuse. By being vigilant and reporting suspicions or signs of abuse, they can help protect children from harm. #mandatedreporter Did you know? Our Education Department provides trainings that equip teachers to recognize and respond to signs of abuse. We also work closely with teachers and counselors to provide body safety programs across school districts in Benton County. Visit https://lnkd.in/g-pKCVdi to learn more. #communitypartner #education Together we are all making a difference in restoring lives impacted by trauma! Thank you to all the dedicated educators who prioritize the safety of their students. #nationalteacherday

  • The Children & Family Advocacy Center works with a team of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) nurses as a part of our acute response team. In coordination with our advocates and interviewers, SANE nurses provide comprehensive and individualized trauma-informed care to our clients. If a child receives an exam often times our advocates are also in the room providing compassion and reassurance for the child. All children who receive a medical exam also take home a handmade blanket. Thanks to the dedication of our SANE team, we are able to offer these services on site ensuring the child feels safe throughout their time at our center. #nationalnursesweek

  • As a trauma-informed center our staff is constantly learning to pivot to provide the best possible services for our clients. Last week, our development team was also thrown a curve ball as severe weather struck during our Family Fun Festival + 5K set-up. As one team we were able to come together to inform sponsors and vendors that the festival was unfortunately going to be cancelled. Together, we contacted volunteers and runners to assure them their safety was our top priority and unfortunately the race had to be cancelled too. The weather in Northwest Arkansas is uncertain this time of year, but one thing that is unchanging is our team's commitment to always working through change with excellence. Thank you to everyone, including our presenting sponsor Walmart, and all the sponsors, vendors, and volunteers for stepping up to make this year's event what was sure to be another #BestofNWA: we'll see you in 2025!

  • One year ago, our supporters woke up to find a new logo splashed across our social pages: we officially announced our future as the Children & Family Advocacy Center. The merger brought decades of expertise and impact together as we continued to honor our roots while growing our services. Our history has given us nearly 60 years of service to guide us into a future of many more years restoring lives impacted by trauma!

  • In 2023, the Children & Family Advocacy Center provided: 🔹783 Forensic Interviews 🔹96 Medical Exams 🔹Restorative Care for over 25 residents ...and these only represent a portion of services offered, free of charge, to clients. On this last day of April, a month dedicated to raising awareness about child abuse, we recognize that we could not continue to offer these services without your dedicated support. Together, we can break the cycle of abuse and continue to improve the lives of those affected by trauma in Benton County and beyond: https://lnkd.in/gbtEimTN

  • Across our social channels we often highlight our volunteer groups who give up their time to help with projects at our center or the success of one of our events, but did you know we also have ongoing clerical volunteers who serve regularly at the center? #volunteerappreciation Some of our clerical volunteers have been here for nearly a year while others are just beginning their CFAC journey. No matter how many hours, each moment they are at our center allows staff to spend more time working with our families and focusing on their journey to healing. #restoringlives We are so grateful for these individuals who choose to give their time each week to help our staff restore lives impacted by trauma.
