As we continue to celebrate #GoodwillWeek, we want to share some of our special mission moments with you. 💙 Veronica, Assistant Store Manager in Jonesboro, found herself on the wrong side of the law and decided she needed something to change in her life. She applied and was accepted into the TEO (Transitional Employment Opportunity) program through Goodwill's Reentry Services. "Graduation day was an emotional day for me," Veronica said. "I looked at myself in that 16 week period and I could see the growth." Hear Veronica's story. #goodwillar #lookforthegood #teambluear

In today’s Leadership Greater Little Rock Alumni Spotlight, hear from Brian Marsh as he describes the value that the LGLR program has provided to him and his organization. Brian is the President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Arkansas and a graduate of LGLR Class XXXI. "Through my experience with LGLR, I've discovered a dynamic community that embraces diversity and inclusivity, welcoming individuals from all walks of life. LGLR has provided me with a platform to build lasting friendships and cultivate meaningful connections across various backgrounds and industries. It's through these relationships that I've found support, collaboration, and inspiration to make a difference in our community. Participating in LGLR has opened doors to countless opportunities for involvement and engagement, allowing me to contribute my unique perspective and skills to initiatives that shape the future of Little Rock. Whether through community projects, networking events, or educational seminars, LGLR has empowered me to play an active role in driving positive change. Moreover, my journey with LGLR has expanded my understanding of everything that Little Rock has to offer. From exploring its rich cultural heritage to delving into its diverse economic landscape, I've gained a deeper appreciation for the city's complexities and its potential for growth. In essence, my experience with LGLR has been transformative, equipping me with the tools, connections, and insights needed to make a meaningful impact in both my personal and professional life. It's more than just a program; it's a supportive community where everyone's contributions are valued. And together, we're building a brighter future for Little Rock." Yesterday, Goodwill leaders, employees, board members and program participants from across the United States traveled to Capitol Hill to advocate for the issues that matter most to local Goodwill organizations and the people they serve. Goodwill Industries of Arkansas leadership attended to help educate lawmakers about Goodwill's mission and to advocate for issues relating to charitable giving, housing, and reentry efforts. We had several members of #TeamBlueAR participate in the Special Olympics Spring Games in Batesville and Fayetteville last week! Bethan, a team member from Batesville, competed in the Batesville Special Olympics and placed 3rd in the softball throw and 4th in the 50-yard walk. Tamara, one of our team members from the Fayetteville/MLK store, received a ribbon from the softball throw. Karla, a team member from our Fayetteville/College store, also participated in the softball throw. We are all so proud and grateful to have them on #TeamBlue. #GoodwillAR #TeamBlueAR #lookforthegood #GoodwillWeek

In 2023, Goodwill Industries of Arkansas had 305 participants complete our Reentry program. That's 305 lives changed! During the month of April, we celebrate Second Chance Month, which recognizes the importance of helping individuals, communities, and agencies across the country appreciate their role in supporting the safe and successful reentry of millions of people returning from incarceration each year. Here at Goodwill, we provide services to individuals reentering the workforce and community after being justice-involved. The Transitional Employment Opportunity (TEO) program is a 16-week paid job training program that provides assistance in receiving job search assistance and leads, acquiring career readiness certification, and more.
